Household Waste Refuse Centres Re-Opening in Lincolnshire - But Different Regulations
A Message from Waste & Re-Cycling centre
Please click on the image below to open the poster, regarding the gradual opening of Lincolnshire Domestic Waste Recycling Centres.
It is really important that residents know they need to book a slot at the tip, rather than just turning up, and for the first two weeks we will only accept garden waste and wood. From 1 June, it will be garden waste, wood, scrap metal and cardboard. We understand residents will have other wastes – and we are trying our best to find a solution for taking these. We will let you know when this is. We know this is a huge change in the way we operate, but to reassure you, we are doing this to reduce the queues, manage the waste we receive and work within social distancing guidelines. We have put lots of information on the www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/clickandtip and would advise residents to look there first. If residents don't have access to the internet – they can call 01522 782070, where we will be happy to answer any questions. I imagine the first few weeks will be really busy, so please bear with us. If I can be of help or assistance, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Cllr Eddy Poll Executive member for waste and recycling
Flying the Flag for our NHS!
We are flying the flag for the NHS in Stubton, and will be doing so every Thursday, apart from St George's Day on 23rd April, to honour the work of the NHS staff and all essential workers during the Covid 19 lockdown.
HARGREAVES ROW FOOTPATH DIVERSION
Social Distancing during the Coronavirus.
Due to the footpath crossing the front of several properties on Hargreaves Row, it is difficult to keep to the 2 metre Social Distancing if the residents are in their front gardens. Therefore a diversion has been put in place, at the adjacent property off Doddington Lane, that allows walkers to access the footpath stile at the far end of Hargreaves Row, by taking a parallel route, clear of any residents. Whilst the simple diversion is not mandatory, please respect the request from Hargreaves residents during this difficult time. Thanks go to the neighbouring resident for allowing this temporary access. Regards, Martin Davis Stubton Parish Council
A MESSAGE FROM THE VILLAGE HALL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
Everyone is aware of widespread impact of the Coronavirus. Following many bookings cancellations and given Government advise about restricting the spread of the virus, the Management Committee of Stubton Village Hall have decided that the Hall will be closed to all for a period of 12 weeks. Towards the end of that period, the Committee will re-assess the situation, consider the relevant advice and guidance regarding the Coronavirus, and determine how to proceed. Whilst the situation is regrettable, the Committee feel that it is in everyone’s best interests and hope that we all stay safe over the coming months. Will keep you updated as things evolve with regard to the Village Hall. Thanks, Mike
Now you'll know the Flag Days at Stubton!
Two plaques are attached to the flagpole. One commemorates when it was erected in 2000, for the New Millenium; the other informs visitors and residents of the reason for a particular flag flying on that day.
The photos above were captured on Commonwealth Day, 14th March 2016 (celebrated annually on the second Monday in March), and the commemorative plaque photo was taken on 5th February 2020.
